Padahal, perubahan berat badan belum tentu menggambarkan apa yang sebenarnya terjadi pada <strong>komposisi tubuh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Berat badan hanyalah salah satu indikator yang dapat memberikan gambaran umum tentang kondisi tubuh. <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Angka di timbangan tidak dapat menunjukkan berapa banyak massa otot, massa lemak, maupun komponen tubuh lainnya<\/mark> yang dimiliki seseorang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Apa Itu Massa Otot dan Massa Lemak?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Secara sederhana, massa otot adalah <strong>jumlah jaringan otot <\/strong>yang terdapat di dalam tubuh, sedangkan massa lemak adalah <strong>jumlah jaringan lemak<\/strong> yang tersimpan di berbagai bagian tubuh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keduanya memiliki<strong> fungsi yang berbeda<\/strong>. Massa otot berperan <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">dalam pergerakan, menjaga postur tubuh, serta mendukung berbagai proses metabolisme.<\/mark> Massa otot yang optimal juga diketahui dapat meningkatkan <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">performa fisik, memperkuat kerangka tubuh, dan membantu menjaga fungsi tubuh secara keseluruhan.<\/mark><sup data-fn=\"a37b59bb-3cab-4aad-a914-ec47db125756\" class=\"fn\"><a id=\"a37b59bb-3cab-4aad-a914-ec47db125756-link\" href=\"#a37b59bb-3cab-4aad-a914-ec47db125756\">1<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sementara itu, lemak berfungsi sebagai <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">cadangan energi, pelindung organ tubuh, dan membantu produksi hormon tertentu. <\/mark>Namun di sisi lain, jumlah lemak yang berlebihan, terutama lemak visceral yang menumpuk di area perut, juga bisa dikaitkan dengan <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">peningkatan risiko berbagai penyakit metabolik seperti diabetes tipe 2, hipertensi, dan penyakit kardiovaskular.<\/mark><sup data-fn=\"13e32198-3a61-4404-9580-6425da50874b\" class=\"fn\"><a id=\"13e32198-3a61-4404-9580-6425da50874b-link\" href=\"#13e32198-3a61-4404-9580-6425da50874b\">2<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oleh karena itu, tujuan yang perlu dicapai bukanlah menghilangkan lemak sepenuhnya atau memiliki otot sebanyak mungkin, melainkan<strong> menjaga keduanya dalam proporsi yang sehat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lantas, mengapa massa otot dan lemak perlu diperhatikan keseimbangan komposisinya, serta  tidak hanya mengacu pada berat badan semata?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Berat Badan Tidak Selalu Mencerminkan Kondisi Tubuh yang Sebenarnya<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Banyak orang menggunakan berat badan sebagai tolok ukur utama untuk menilai kondisi kesehatannya. Padahal, berat badan<mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> tidak dapat membedakan apakah angka tersebut berasal dari massa otot, massa lemak, cairan tubuh, atau komponen lainnya<\/mark>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inilah sebabnya mengapa dua orang dengan berat badan yang sama <strong>belum tentu <\/strong>memiliki kondisi kesehatan yang sama. Sebagai contoh, dua orang dapat memiliki berat badan identik, tetapi <strong>komposisi tubuh yang berbeda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salah satunya mungkin memiliki <strong>massa otot yang lebih tinggi dan persentase lemak tubuh yang lebih rendah<\/strong>, sementara yang lain memiliki <strong>massa otot yang lebih sedikit dan lemak tubuh yang lebih tinggi<\/strong>.<sup data-fn=\"ccdbda82-618d-455e-b800-f8cc0b1fec92\" class=\"fn\"><a id=\"ccdbda82-618d-455e-b800-f8cc0b1fec92-link\" href=\"#ccdbda82-618d-455e-b800-f8cc0b1fec92\">3<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Akibatnya, meskipun angka di timbangan sama, <strong>kondisi metabolik, kebugaran, dan risiko kesehatannya bisa sangat berbeda<\/strong>. Jadi, angka di timbangan tidak selalu mampu menggambarkan kondisi tubuh secara menyeluruh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Massa Otot Membantu Menjaga Metabolisme dan Fungsi Tubuh<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Otot merupakan jaringan yang aktif secara metabolik. Sebaliknya, kehilangan massa otot dapat menyebabkan <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">penurunan kekuatan dan ketahanan tubuh, sehingga seseorang lebih mudah lelah saat beraktivitas.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Itulah mengapa pada lansia, penurunan massa otot menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan yang perlu mendapat perhatian. Seiring bertambahnya usia, massa otot dapat berkurang akibat menurunnya jumlah dan ukuran serat otot.<sup data-fn=\"6c3c7e5d-b4ec-48f3-b27d-7a2ab846ef8e\" class=\"fn\"><a id=\"6c3c7e5d-b4ec-48f3-b27d-7a2ab846ef8e-link\" href=\"#6c3c7e5d-b4ec-48f3-b27d-7a2ab846ef8e\">4<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kondisi ini dapat menyebabkan <strong>penurunan kekuatan otot dan kemampuan fisik, <\/strong>sehingga aktivitas sehari-hari seperti berjalan, naik tangga, atau mengangkat barang menjadi lebih sulit dilakukan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Massa Lemak yang Berlebihan Dapat Meningkatkan Risiko Penyakit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Lemak tubuh memang diperlukan untuk menjalankan berbagai fungsi biologis.
