Makanan manis seperti <em>dessert<\/em> dan semacamnya digemari remaja karena dianggap bergengsi dan memiliki rasa yang enak. Padahal makanan manis mengandung glukosa, fruktosa, dan gula lainnya. Bila terlalu banyak mengkonsumsi makanan manis yang mengandung tambahan gula dapat menyebabkan resistensi insulin, tubuh menjadi kurang sensitif terhadap insulin. Selain itu terlalu sering mengkonsumsi makanan manis dapat menyebabkan obesitas. Obesitas ini lah yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya penyakit diabetes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Apa sih Diabetes itu?&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Diabetes merupakan sekelompok penyakit metabolik yang biasa ditandai dengan sering kencing dengan jumlah yang banyak, penurunan berat badan secara drastis, dan hiperglikemia atau kadar gula darah yang melebihi normal akibat adanya kerusakan pada pengeluaran insulin dan kerja insulin.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diabetes yang dianggap sebagai penyakit orang dewasa kini tak jarang dapat menyerang remaja. Akibat dari gaya hidup dan meningkatnya obesitas di kalangan remaja.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Faktor Penyebab Diabetes<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Faktor risiko DM tipe-2 terutama adalah obesitas dan riwayat keluarga, faktor lainnya yaitu berat badan lahir rendah (kecil masa kehamilan) dan status gizi buruk (IMT rendah) pada usia 2 tahun. Gaya hidup juga ambil peran dalam faktor penyebab diabetes. Remaja sering mengkonsumsi makanan dan minuman yang beresiko salah satunya minuman manis (<em>soft drink<\/em>). <em>Soft drink <\/em>merupakan satu dari banyaknya jenis minuman yang didalamnya terkandung kandungan gula yang tinggi serta memiliki perisa berbagai rasa. Selain tinggi kandugan gula, didalam <em>Soft drink <\/em>juga terkandung komposisi kafein, aspartam, sakarin, fruktosa, asam sorbat, asam benzoat, dan asam fosfat yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit diabetes.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faktor risiko diabetes ini sering kali tidak dipahami atau bahkan sering diabaikan oleh remaja, karena menganggap makanan manis berlebih yang dikonsumsinya itu tidak berdampak apa-apa dalam tubuhnya dan mereka merasa hanya mengonsumsi sedikit atau jarang. Jadwal yang diterapkan adalah sebagai berikut:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"1\">\n<li>Sarapan pagi 06:00-09:00 (20%)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li>Jajan Pagi 09:00-10:00 (10%)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li>Makan Siang 12:00- 13:00 (25%)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li>Jajan Sore 15:00-16:00 (10%)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\">\n<li>Makan Malam 18: 00-19:00 (25%)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"6\">\n<li>Snack malam 21.00 (10%)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Jenis makanan sangat perlu diperhatikan karena dapat menentukan kecepatan naiknya kadar gula darah. Pemenuhan asupan makanan bagi penderita DM mencakup karbohidrat, lemak, protein, buah-buahan, dan sayuran.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Kesimpulan<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Konsumsi makanan dan minuman manis yang berlebihan dapat menyebabkan terjadinya diabetes pada remaja. Diabetes melitus atau yang biasa disebut DM adalah sekelompok penyakit yang ditandai dengan terlalu sering kencing dengan jumlah produksi air kencing yang lumayan banyak, penurunan berat badan secara drastis, dan kadar gula darah yang melebihi normal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penyakit yang umumnya menyerang remaja adalah penyakit diabetes melitus tipe 1 karena sel beta pankreas menghasilkan sedikit hormon insulin yang disebabkan oleh faktor keturunan dan autoimun. Akan tetapi, diabetes melitus tipe 2 pun bisa juga menyerang remaja dikarenakan usia remaja terbjlang sangat rawan. Penyebab lain penderita diabetes adalah gaya hidup yang tidak sehat yang akan menimbulkan kegemukan pada remaja tersebut, yang selanjutkan akan mempermudah remaja terjangkit diabetes. Dikarenakan penyebab penyakit ini beresiko tinggi pada para remaja, remaja perlu edukasi serta pemahaman yang cukup tinggi mengenai&nbsp; penyebab, dampak ataupun akibat serta pencegahan dini agar nantinya penyakit tersebut tidak menular.
