Berbagai kelebihan madu sebagai makanan bernutrien tinggi sudah diketahui sejak zaman dahulu. Madu dapat menurunkan lipid peroksida dan malonaldealdehida atau sering disingkat MDA. Antioksidan di dalamnya dapat membantu menurunkan tekanan darah. Madu juga membantu memperbaiki &nbsp;kolesterol, menurunkan trigliserida. Madu murni juga terdiri dari flavonoid, polifenol, senyawa pereduksi, alkaloid, glikosida, glikosida jantung, antrakuinon, dan senyawa yang mudah menguap.
