Metode ini biasa dilakukan untuk pasien di rumah sakit untuk melihat konsumsi makanan rumah sakit oleh pasien.<span id=\"4218b5e4-2418-447c-aead-575019cbc9d4\" data-items=\"[&quot;1619956633&quot;]\" contenteditable=\"false\" data-has-children=\"true\" class=\"abt-citation\"><sup>\u200b1\u200b<\/sup><\/span> <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Metode taksiran visual mempunyai korelasi kuat dengan penimbangan, sehingga taksiran visual dapat digunakan untuk menentukan sisa makanan menggantikan metode penimbangan<\/span><\/strong>. <span id=\"553f7b65-7297-49b4-88c1-1b031dadbc3a\" data-items=\"[&quot;3110781282&quot;]\" contenteditable=\"false\" data-has-children=\"true\" class=\"abt-citation\"><sup>\u200b2\u200b<\/sup><\/span> Selain itu, studi di India menyebutkan bahwa asupan makanan diperkirakan dengan observasi dan estimasi visual  merupakan metode yang valid untuk menilai asupan makanan anak. Metode ini menghasilkan perkiraan asupan makanan yang sangat mirip seperti halnya asupan makanan yang dicatat.<span id=\"1df9d2f9-f8e1-41d1-92f7-dfae2ab7d4e8\" data-items=\"[&quot;1056437538&quot;]\" contenteditable=\"false\" data-has-children=\"true\" class=\"abt-citation\"><sup>\u200b3\u200b<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"tw-target-text\">Menimbang sisa makanan lebih memakan waktu dan seringkali tidak praktis. Sebagai alternatif, dua pengukuran tidak langsung dievaluasi yaitu <em>visual comstock<\/em> dan peringkat sisa makanan di piring anak-anak. <em>Visual comstock<\/em> sangat berkorelasi dengan persen sisa makanan (r = 0,93) dan cukup akurat. Penilaian peringkat sisa makanan oleh anak-anak kurang akurat tetapi masih dianggap sebagai ukuran tidak langsung yang berguna yang harus dikembangkan lebih lanjut.<span id=\"32790700-3d23-4d71-a649-0604f65d5272\" data-items=\"[&quot;2480499026&quot;]\" contenteditable=\"false\" data-has-children=\"true\" class=\"abt-citation\"><sup>\u200b4\u200b<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Studi lain menunjukkan hasil bahwa metode estimasi visual tidak seakurat metode penimbangan dalam menilai <em>aggregat nonselective plate waste<\/em> di kantin sekolah dasar. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting mempertimbangkan penilaian sisa makanan, karena variasi yang luas pada porsi awal menimbulkan bias yang relevan saat mempertimbangkan porsi standar dari porsi awal. Meskipun, lebih mudah, menghemat waktu dan kemungkinan untuk memantau sisa makanan kelompok lebih besar, menjadikan m<strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">etode <em>visual comstock<\/em> sebagai metode penting untuk menilai sisa makanan di kantin sekolah<\/span><\/strong>. Hasil ini menyoroti perlunya <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ahligizi.id\/blog\/2020\/09\/16\/standar-resep-dan-standar-porsi-pada-penyelenggaraan-makanan\/\">standarisasi porsi<\/a><\/strong> dan kontrol porsi awal untuk penggunaannya.<span id=\"33dd4bd9-8f97-4b03-88ae-353cdf15f388\" data-items=\"[&quot;2523395725&quot;]\" contenteditable=\"false\" data-has-children=\"true\" class=\"abt-citation\"><sup>\u200b5\u200b<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BACA ARTIKEL : <a href=\"https:\/\/ahligizi.id\/blog\/2020\/06\/11\/sisa-makanan-plate-waste\/\">Sisa Makanan\/ <em>Plate Waste<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prinsip Visual Comstock<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dietisien menaksir secar visual banyaknya sisa makanan yang ada untuk setiap golongan makanan atau jenis hidangan (makanan pokok, lauk hewani, lauk nabati, sayur, buah, snack, dan minuman) setiap waktu makan. <strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Hasil estimasi tersebut bisa dalam bentuk berat makanan (gram) atau skor bila menggunakan skala pengukuran<\/span><\/strong>. Metode taksiran visual dengan menggunakan skala pengukuran dikembangkan oleh Comstock dengan menggunakan<strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> skala 6 poin (persen sisa makanan)<\/span><\/strong>, dengan kriteria sebagai berikut :<span id=\"ed68dfe1-57f1-4d41-918e-09d037023886\" data-items=\"[&quot;904324867&quot;]\" contenteditable=\"false\" data-has-children=\"true\" class=\"abt-citation\"><sup>\u200b6\u200b<\/sup><\/span><br>a. Skala 0, jika makanan dikonsumsi seluruhnya oleh pasien (100% habis)<br>b. Skala 1, jika makanan tersisa \u00bc porsi (75% habis)<br>c. Skala 2, jika makanan tersisa \u00bd porsi (50% habis)<br>d. Skala 3, jika makanan tersisa \u00be porsi (25% habis)<br>e. Skala 4, jika makanan hanya dikonsumsi sedikit \u00b1 1 sendok makan (5% habis)<br>f. Kekurangan dari metode ini adalah diperlukan penaksir yang sudah terlatih, teliti, terampil.
